Pearl Thusi is a South African actress, model, television and radio
personality best known for her starring role as Dayana Mampasi in the
television thriller series Quantico, joining the cast in Season 2.
Early Life , Background And Childhood
Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi was born
in 13 May 1988 in kwaNdengezi near Durban, KwaZulu Natal. Pearl’s
career began in her early school days participating in pageants in her
her “township” of kwaNdengezi, KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. In high
school, she continued pursuing the only door she could access to enter
the industry- Modeling. She clinched titles as Miss KZN 2005, and First
Runner-up in Miss SA Teen in 2003 to name a few.

Born Sithembile Xola Pearl Thusi in South Africa her father’s name is
Bhekizizwe Thusi. Not much is known about her mother apart from that
she passed on a while back. She has two sisters : Prunella Thusi and

Pearl Thusi was in a relationship with sports presenter Walter Mokoena with whom she has a daughter, Thandolwethu Mokoena.

She was in a relationship with SuperSport and SABC sports journalist
Robert Marawa but the two shocked their fans when Marawa confirmed of
their breakup in August 2017. The actress set tongues wagging on social
media in January 2018 after hinting that she has found love again. “Just
when I said I couldn’t be bothered with love, I end up falling for
someone bomb…” she tweeted. She has however not revealed his identity.

Pearl Thusi as a model came in handy in gracing the most memorable covers of the most high profile magazines including City Press’ iMag, Blaque, Gaschette, Destiny Hair, Bona Magazine, True Love, Dossier, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Grazia and numerous editorials on some of these titles.
Her first on-screen job was as a host on iCrew, a live show on SABC3. As a host, she entertained audiences on The Real Goboza before she moved on to South Africa’s biggest music show, LiveAmp, while, simultaneously doing Tropika Island of Treasure 5, which was shot in Jamaica, as a contestant and was later asked to host the 6th iseason of the show as the host in Mauritius.

Pearl roles include appearances in Zone 14, Soul City, Rhythm City, Family Bonds, Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency and Jacobs Cross. She’s worked on leading role on Isidingo playing Palesa Motaung. Pearl soon after gained her first lead role in a feature film, titled Kalushi – The Story of Solomon Mahlangu, (scheduled for release). She then landed two international movie roles within 6 months after that on Tremors: Bloodlines (Universal
Pictures 2015) and Rosa (Germany). She more recently completed filming
romantic comedy “Feelings” with famed comedian Kagiso Lediga & Akin
Omotoso & is currently filming the second season “Quantico” in New
Her TV career catapulted a Radio career that quickly blossomed as
fans woke up in the early hours to be entertained by her friend &
mentor “The Real Phat Joe” and Pearl on Saturday breakfast between
05:00 and 09:00. Ever the perfectionist and hard worker, Pearl felt she
needed to earn her stripes on radio she took an opening on a graveyard
slot between 01:00 and 03:00 The Black Out on Sundays to hone her individual Radio charisma. Both shows were a great success.
